Mold steel performance classification
Die steel can be roughly divided into three categories, namely: cold die steel, hot die steel and plastic die steel. The commonly used die steel materials are mainly these three types of die steel.
A, cold work die steel
Cold work die steel is mainly used to manufacture a mold for pressing a workpiece in a cold state. Such as: cold blanking mold, cold stamping mold, cold drawing deep mold, stamping mold, cold extrusion mold, thread pressing mold and powder pressing mold. The range of cold work die steel is very wide,. From various carbon tool steels, alloy tool steels, high-speed tool steels to powder high-speed tool steels and powder high-alloy die steels. Cold working die steel is vacuum degassing refining steel, pure internal quality, good machinability, cutting significantly improved, good hardenability, air-cooled hardening is not easy to appear quenching crack, excellent wear resistance, good toughness, can be used as stainless steel and high hardness materials of the blanking die.
1. Wear-resistant cold work die steel

B, hot work die steel
Hot work die steel is mainly used in the manufacture of high temperature state of the workpiece for pressure processing of the mold. Commonly used hot work die steels are: alloy die steels with medium and high carbon content adding Cr, W, Mo, V and other alloying elements; For hot work die steels with special requirements, high alloy austenitic heat-resistant die steels are sometimes used.
